Running Accomplishments:

Took up running in 2008, shortly after I was born. My human runner thinks he is fast, but I'm much faster.  Two legs are lame.  Four legs is where it is at.  My favorite place to run is frozen Utah Lake.  I ran 10 miles out there this winter, clocking a sub-4:00 pace for long stretches.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Break a 4-minute mile.  I'm sure I can do it now, but my slow human runner can't keep up with me.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep my girlish figure of 14 pounds and be able to run a 1/2 marathon.

Personal:

I live with several humans.  I love yelling at runners and birds.   I'm not married and not interested in dating.  My best friend is my sister, Macie who lives in Eagle Mountain.  She's not really into running like I am. For cross-training I love to chase lasers up and down the stairs.

I was really excited to go running today.   Davy took me on a long loop and I was fast and strong.   I wish he would go faster.  Maybe if he had four legs.   I stopped at an aid station at about mile five and got a nice drink.  It was a mud puddle.  I tried to lay down in it but Davy wouldn't let me.  Party pooper.   Speaking  of poop, I like to stop and check it out, but Davy drags me away.

My longest run since January.   After three miles I was dragging.  My left rear foot ended up a little hurt.  Davy was nice and let me rest a couple times.   Running roads are lame.  I ran the last couple on the grass.   I love running on the grass.

Ran 4 miles with my human, Davy.  When a biker went by us, I wanted to race.  We kicked it up to 6:30 pace but Davy made me stop after a quarter mile.  He's slow.   But after two miles, I was pooped.   Davy dropped the leash on the bike path and I did my best to keep up the last two miles.

I got up at 2:30 a.m. when my human, Davy got up.  He put on his running clothes and I asked him if I could go on his adventure run with jun.   But after a few minutes, I realized that I was much smarter than my human.  I went back upstairs, got in the warm bed, and went back to sleep.  Davy is nuts.

p.m.  Went out with Davy.  After 1/2 mile, my front right foot was sore and I asked to go back home.  I know that barefoot running is all the rage lately, but my four feet aren't tough enough for these miles yet.  I did set a PR this week for miles.   Davy was kind and carried me for the last 1/4 mile.  Pretty nice to have your running partner carry you when you get tired or injured.

Dude, did I just notice that you started a running blog for your dog? That is so awesome. Hahahahahaha. Genius.

Hi jun. Thanks for commenting on my blog. You are the first one to comment. Yes, I'm crockett's dog. He's the best runner in the world.

I think you are a little biased Reeses. Probably because he feeds you every night and takes you outside to go potty. But good on ya. Your owner is relatively cool.

Reeses, Welcome to the blog! Bow wow WOW! 20 miles already! VERY ambitious goal to break 4 min. mile. I am certain you can do it as long as you're not leashed up w/ Davy.

SMART girl to stay in bed. Did he tell ya that he lost his running partner? Wouldn't want that to happen to you in a cold dark night! Have fun sniffing poop, rolling in the puddles and licking Davy!

Thanks Smooth, Yes 20 miles was lots of fun this week. When you run, do you like to stop at all the fire hydrants and check them out? I do. It makes running interesting.

Taking a break from running today.  Tried to order some of those cool five-finger shoes since I'm really into barefoot running.   But they didn't have my size.  It doesn't look like they would fit very well anyway.

Oh my goodness, I am laughing. I missed this. I saw the posts here and there, but did not know you were a dog. Now I know. I hope you are one of this dogs that does not chase runners and nip at their heals!

From reeses on Fri, Mar 19, 2010 at 22:07:33 from 71.36.81.227

No, I never bite runners. I might bark at them, but I race them and pass them. When I bark at them I'm saying, "Hey, I can beat you." No human runner can beat me in a race under a mile.

Good to know, I will not race you! Tell your friends not to chase runners, even the little bitty ones!

I Tried on the 5 fingers too..and didn't love the feel of them either! I have started taking to wearing my running shoes with no socks tho..really feels so much better...my big feet get too squished in girly socks. Maybe I should wear mens socks..idk...how bout just no socks...haha..Nice to meet you!

I live for running!  Do all of you also get very excited when your running partner puts on shoes?   I do.  When crockett puts his shoes on, I go search for my leash, bring it to him and use a sad-eye routine.   Sad eyes are pretty effective to get what you want.  Silly humans, they fall for it everytime.

Go sad eye him into a 7.1 mile run, that or prepare to bark at me!

I tried the sad eyes routine when he looked outside, contemplating going for a fast seven-mile run. It didn't work. He closed the door and mumbled something about stake conference.

From Kelli on Sun, Mar 21, 2010 at 13:15:00 from 71.219.89.82

What a good human, to let Kelli win and go to Stake Conference instead. Well, he has me beat next week in just one day of running! Go easy on him before the race!

From KP on Mon, Mar 22, 2010 at 10:45:47 from 65.208.22.25

This is great! Reeses, I've been giving myself the sad-eye for the past week as my runs have sucked. My feet are still tender after a 32-miler last weekend. Keep working on Crockett. He'll come around eventually.

I am anxious to get out running again!  I've been dragging my leash all over the house but these stupid humans just can't figure out what I want to do.  Can I be any more obvious?  I've been shopping for running shoes and found a pair online that I like.   Now, if I can just convince crockett to buy them for me.  Come on, let's be fair.  He buys running shoes all the time.   I should get some too.   Maybe I'll just snag his credit card when he isn't looking.  The shoes I want are these: http://www.trails.com/gear/p/ruff-wear/barkn-boots-grip-trex-footwear-for-dogs/
